Biographical Note

Born July 16, 1956, Regina Harris Baiocchi is a composer of classical music, performer, and author. A music graduate of DePaul University and Roosevelt University, she has also studied design at the Illinois Institute of Technology and public relations at New York University. She is the composer of the opera Gbeldahoven: No One’s Child (1996); and author of poetry, creative nonfiction, and fiction, including her first novel Indigo Sound (2003); and currently a writer for Oxford University Press. Since 2000 she has been adjunct humanities professor for East-West University in Chicago. Her compositions have been performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Brass Quintet, and Seattle Philharmonic.
