Frank S. Horne papers addendum
Scope and Contents
The addendum to the Frank S. Horne papers consists of correspondence, photographs, newspaper clippings, invitations and programs, writings by Horne and others, publications, and collected materials. Unlike the bulk of Horne's papers, this addendum focuses on Horne's interest in writing, rather than his work within housing and various governmental agencies. Of note are a series of letters, dated 1915-1917, from Frank Horne's brother, Errol, to members of his family during his military service; a letter from W.E.B. Du Bois offering his opinion on a collection of Horne's poems; and a similar letter from Gwendolyn Bennett seeking Horne's opinion on a collection of her poems. Horne's writing is reflected in poems, essays, short stories, and a typescript entitled "What Demoracy?" that he co-authored with Henry Lee Moon.
