NOLA Hip-hop Archive Project collection addendum
Content Description
The NOLA Hip-hop Archive was founded by Holly Hobbs, a Ph.D. student at Tulane University, as part of her dissertation research in 2012. The goal of Hobbs’ project is to document hip-hop in New Orleans, Louisiana, both as a musical and community art form. Hobbs’ research includes a series of video interviews with hip-hop artists in New Orleans, which form the basis for this collection. Additional interviews will be added as they are completed, as will ephemeral material such as flyers, posters, etc. collected by Hobbs and others. To date, the NOLA Hip-hop Archive has focused on the recording and collection of videotaped oral histories. This addendum contains 14 videotaped interviews with hip-hop and bounce artists and pioneers, including: B Mike, Big Ramp, Ceaux, Chase N. Cashe, Cheeky Blakk, DJ Captian Charles, DJ Slab, Edward Buckles, Full Pack, Mia X, Natee, Pell, Reem, Slick Leo.
