Green D. Simpson papers
Content Description
The papers of Green D. Simpson document his long-standing grievance against the United States Post Office in Cincinnati, Ohio, which he pursued for over thirty years. The collection contains correspondence, news clippings about and written by Simpson, photographs, additional writings by Simpson, as well as an open letter to the Cincinnati Herald newspaper outlining his grievance. Correspondents include: Ralph A. Dungan (special assistant to the U.S. President), Congressmen Robert Taft Jr. and staff for Senator Howard Metzenbaum, James Abernathy and Willis F. Baker of the Cincinnati Branch of the NAACP, and NAACP Executive Director Benjamin Hooks.
