 Person

Biographical Statement

Robert F. Gagnier has been in the world of journalism since March of 2001 in the capacity of both an editor and writer-reporter. While from Los Angeles, California, Gagnier’s parents were born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the Seventh Ward neighborhood. Gagnier’s parents, like many at the time, relocated to California in search of a better life, bringing with them aspects of New Orleans life and culture. As a result, Gagnier was able to experience the culture of the city that his parents had brought with them. In addition, his mother was one of twelve, and father one of nine. Ever since he was two years of age, he has visited New Orleans without fail to touch base with his large, extended family.

Gagnier’s love for the world of journalism grew over time, as he first cut his teeth at the local Culver City Observer newspaper in southern California. From there, he has contributed to a plethora of publications from AOL, to the Huffignton Post, to the Patch networks. Gagnier has covered everything from sports to politics, and eventually came to cover New Orleans-based subject matter and personalities. Gagnier currently works for Microsoft in sales, but continues his work in the realm of journalism.
