Biographical Note

Calvin Moret was born in 1925 in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from Xavier Preparatory in 1942. He began flying at Tuskegee Institute in January of 1944 and graduated in November 20, 1994. World War II ended four days before Moret was ordered to go overseas but he was sent to Florida, South Carolina, and then to Kentucky to continue his flight studies. He applied for a discharge and returned to New Orleans where he started a flight club with his brother in May of 1949. Moret is the son of Adolph Joseph Moret, founder of the Moret Press, a prominent New Orleans printing company. He took over management of the Moret Press from his father in 1962.

Content Description
