Biographical Statement

Gerald Norwood, of Wichita, Kansas, is a collector of African Americana with a particular interest in Booker T. Washington, slavery, and Wichita African American history. Norwood was a Gore Scholar and graduated from Wichita State University (WSU) with a BA with Honors in Religion in 1974. In addition to his collecting interests, Norwood has served on the Wichita Sedgwick County Historical Museum Board and been active in WSU alumni affairs and community services.
