Biographical Statement

Paul Hoswell Hardacre was a long-time professor of history at Vanderbilt University. He met his wife, Gracia, while conducting doctoral research at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California. Author of The Royalists during the Puritan Revolution as well as numerous book chapters and articles, Hardacre was the recipient of multiple awards, including a Fulbright and Guggenheim Fellowships. He died in 2010.

Gracia Hardacre was a manuscripts librarian at the Huntington Library in California, the Tennessee State Library and Archives, and at Fisk University.
