Scope and Contents
The collected material series is the largest part of the collection consisting of items from various social and civic organizations, as well as educational and religious bodies, collected by Dr. Thomas. It includes bulletins, calendars, correspondence, invitations, newsletters, pamphlets, programs, reports, and ephemera. Notable organizations represented within the series include the Beau Brummell Club, Dillard University, the Freemasons, Howard University, the NAACP, the National Medical Association, Sigma Pi Phi, Talladega College, United Church of Christ, and the Urban League of Greater New Orleans. The series is arranged alphabetically by organization, then chronologically.
