Negatives, Proofs, and Slides, A-D
Scope and Contents
One of the larger series in the collection, the Personal manuscript materials house some of the few papers and manuscripts found in de Mille’s overall collection, including his manuscript, "The Rise and Fall of Beale Street" that The Afro American published in 1974. It is heavy, however, with images from his non-work-related travels and in family photographs, such as an image dating from the 1910s of twin brothers (possibly relatives of de Mille’s) who were World War I servicemen. This series is ordered chronologically with the images arranged alphabetically.
