Publishers' catalogs, 1996-1998

This series is comprised of posthumous publications of works by Chester Himes, as well as material related to the publication and sales of his works following his death. Of note is a mockup of The Collected Stories of Chester Himes, comprised of photocopies of individual stories from previously published sources and typescripts. Typescripts and copies are numbered with some typesetting edits. The stories are arranged according to the sections in the published book. Also included are page proofs for Plan B.

Present are literary contracts and royalty statements, which document continued interest in the works of Chester Himes by various publishers. These documents complement the correspondence files of his literary agent, Roslyn Targ, found in Series 1. The contracts and royalty statements are each arranged alphabetically by publisher.
