The audiovisual materials in the Harold R. Battiste Papers measure 19.6 linear feet, the bulk of which is comprised of Harold Battiste's personal record collection. The collection includes mainly jazz and classical albums in 33 1/3 and 45 rpm formats. Of note within the collection are records produced by A.F.O. Records or for which Battiste provided arrangement or production. An inventory of the collection is maintained at the Amistad Research Center.

Additional audiovisual materials include an oral history conducted with Battiste in 2008, compact discs used by Battiste in courses at the University of New Orleans, compacts discs produced by A.F.O. Records or for which Battiste provided arrangement or production, and compact discs of musicians associated with Battiste, such as Sonny and Cher. The discs include both professional produced and duplicated CDs. Audiocassettes and a video cassette are also present. The audiocassettes include musical rehearsals, an unidentified public lecture, and a recording of Battiste with a family member and other unidentified individuals. The video cassette contains a short biographical documentary on Battiste.
