Xavier University Preparatory School: 55th Anniversary Reunion, 1999

The Xavier University and Xavier University Preparatory School files covers Soniat’s academic career as a college student at Xavier University, but mainly contains materials for his work as an alumnus of the Xavier University Preparatory School in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a member of the Xavier University Preparatory School’s class of 1944, Soniat served as a class agent and a member of several annual funding campaigns. This series contains correspondence, brochures and flyers, reunion committee reports, minutes, collected news clippings, handbooks, hand script notes newsletters and programs. Of note are printed items and hand script notes which reflect the school’s alumni financial contributions, including a 1988 analysis and a class of 1944 gift history (1983-1984). All files are arranged alphabetically.

Other materials found in the Xavier University files include files from the Athletic Banquet Committee (1988-1989), mailing lists (1989), and charts from the structure of the Annual Fund Steering Committee (undated) and Sisters of Blessed Sacrament Council Members (undated). The small number of files related to Soniat’s college academic career contain materials of his 1946 basketball tournament, the university’s bulletin, student handbook, and his name plate (1946), programs (2003) and a photocopy of the school’s zoning ordinance (2003).
