Leadership Initiative Task Force: correspondence, 1988-1989

The bulk of this section of the collection consists of materials related to the International Women’s Forum (IWF), its local affiliate the Louisiana Women’s Forum, and the IWF Leadership Foundation. These organizational files include by-laws, general correspondence, board of directors materials, meeting agendas and minutes, conference materials, reports, financial records and membership directories. Also included are materials from committees to which Morial belonged, such as the Hall of Fame Task Force, the Nominating and Membership committees, and Women and Corporations That Make a Difference committee.

Notable items include records from the 1998 IWF Annual Conference and Gala, which was hosted in New Orleans. These records consist of planning and logistics information such as hotel accommodation, event details and speaker selection. Also included are correspondence detailing attendees’ reaction to the event in New Orleans.

The records of the Louisiana Women’s Forum (also known as the Women’s Forum of Louisiana), a regional chapter of the IWF, include correspondence, criteria for and nominations to membership, membership rosters and invitations. This section also includes information on the creation of a regional chapter as well as a small amount of information on The Dallas (Texas) Forum.

The IWF’s Leadership Foundation was created to help mentor women with aspirations of leadership. These records include applications and correspondence from the selection committee of which Morial was a part.
