De Veaux was a tenured faculty member at the University at Buffalo from 1992 to 2013 and an associate professor of Women's and Gender Studies within the Department of Transnational Studies.

The University at Buffalo files document De Veaux’s teaching endeavors through course materials, such as syllabi and evaluations; notebooks and notecards for various classes; letters and cards from students; student papers; and poetry. Also included are ephemeral materials such as flyers, posters, programs, and news clippings for various events on campus. The bulk of the series contain materials from De Veaux’s Women’s Studies course (1997-2011), which she taught at the university for over a decade.
