Boxes 36-40

Under this heading are materials pertaining to the Hamer children, Jackie and Lenora. Also included are collected newsletters, funeral registers for Fannie Lou Hamer, and oversized materials and newspapers. The newspapers include clippings from various sources, but mainly Mississippi newspapers on Hamer, civil rights, etc. Also included are union newspapers. Additional oversized material include photographs of African American children and a man dressed as Santa Claus, honorary degrees and awards to Hamer, and election signs for African American political candidates in Greenwood and Jackson, Mississippi, and for Hamer's candidacy for Mississippi state senator in 1971. Finally a print of the 16mm documentary film Oh, Freedom! on the civil rights movement is present.
