Financial records, 1939-Febuary 1946
Scope and Contents
The Lincoln School records concentrate in the years 1934 to 1957. Correspondence represents about one half of the total, dating from 1934-1956. Letters of 1934 concern the employment of several teachers. There is then a gap until 1937 when the principals' correspondence begins. Most of the correspondence is between the New York office and school principals, W.A. Redfield (1937-1938), Wilfred Gamble (1938-1941), Ernest A. Smith (1943-1945), Ralph A. Martin (1945-1946), and Charles B. Fancher (1946-1950). Other correspondence, dating from 1947 to 1950, is to or from Samuel C. Adams, director of the Cooperative Center. Several letters in 1955 and 1956 are between the New York office and various non-AMA parties in relation to Lincoln, after it became a state school.
Non-correspondence includes reports, a student injury settlement, employment and financial records, records of alumni activities, materials on a chorus tour, photographs, a speech, architects' contracts, a speech, architects' contracts, publications, and material on community organizations.
