Scope and Contents
This series contains articles and other works written about Chester Himes, as well as adaptations of his work, news clippings, and collected materials. Of note are a fragment of the cartoon version of La Reine des Pommes by Melvin Van Peebles and George Wolinski (circa 1965), a typescript entitled "Chester Himes on Trial" by Major A. Smith (circa 1979), and the screenplay for "Cotton Comes to Harlem" written by Ossie Davis and Arnold Perl (1969).
