Film options: correspondence and contracts, 1966-1971

This series is comprised of personal papers, such as legal, financial, real estate, and medical records. These are arranged by document type and then chronological. Of significance are Chester Himes' professional papers, such as literary contracts and royalty statements, which document his relationships with various publishers and the sales of his books and stories. These documents complement the extensive correspondence files with publishers and literary agents found in Series 1. The contracts and royalty statements are each arranged alphabetically by publisher.
