The papers of Rene Jacques Rousseve contain professional, as well as academic papers that document Rousseve's life as a social worker and civic leader. The correspondence focuses on Rousseve's employment with the State of Louisiana. Main correspondents include Amy McDonnall, Everlyn Perkins, and Lillie Nairne. Of note is a letter dated January 10, 1956, discussing a ruling by the Interstate Commerce Commission concering desegregation of inter-state travel on trains and buses. The collection includes Rousseve's employment records, including evaluations and applications. Of interest are two manuscripts written by Rousseve entitled "Tossed by Fortune" and "Attitude as Expressive of the Personality of the Negro Adolescent in New Orleans".
