The Lydia Sindos Adams Family papers document the life and civic interests of Adams, as well as the Adams/Sindos/Gumbel families of New Orleans. Materials include correspondence; photographs, both of the Adams family and various New Orleans organizations; news clippings; genealogy materials; marriage certificates; land deeds; school certificates and diplomas; financial records; autograph and guest books; a diary; and photo albums. Organizations represented in the collection include the Louisiana Iris Garden Club, Straight University, the Women's Auxiliary of Flint-Goodridge Hospital, Jack and Jill of America, and The Links, Inc. Of note also are photographs and news clippings regarding physician Clarence C. Haydel.
