Content Description

The Vera Clement Edwards papers contain correspondence, minutes, reports, honors and awards, programs, and the Ph.D. dissertations of Dr. Vera Edwards and her brother, Wendell E. Clement. The work of Dr. Edwards with deliquent children, eduational opportunity, and intercultural problems is documented in the papers. Her long involvement with the LINKS' Jamboree project is evidenced in her correspondence, as well as her efforts on behalf of Children's International Summer Villages, which she was active with since its inception in 1951. Dr. Edwards was born in 1909 in Paris, Texas. She recieved her B.A. from Prairie View A&M University in 1930 and her Master's one year later from the University of Cincinnati. In 1954, she earned a doctorate from University of Cincinnati and later joined its staff.
