Freedmen's Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church records

This collection is composed of two boxes and two reels of microfilm. The boxes contain photocopies of original docuements (1865-1897) held in the Freedmen's Aid Society records held at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The documents are letters and reports primarily pertaining to Georgia and Alabama. The microfilm contains annual reports of the organization from 1866-1924. There are two folders of non-Georgia and non-Alabama letters, dated 1866-1878. The Georgia letters are either from or about Atlanta. Correspondents include J.W.E. Bowen and J.F. Chalfant
