Content Description
In December 1927, the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Memorial, part of the Rockefeller Foundation, sponsored a "Negro Problems Conference" at Yale University. It was attended by an impressive group of Black and White leaders in education, economics, race relations, and religion. Those invited included John Hope, Mordecai Johnson, C.C. Spaulding, Thomas Elsa Jones, Channing Tobias, A. Philip Randolph, Robert E. Jones, Charles S. Johnson, George Edmund Haynes, Eugene Knickle Jones, Arthur Spingarn, and James Weldon Johnson. The site of the conference was the Zeta Psi Fraternity House in New Haven, Connecticut. This photocopied typescript (482 leaves) includes a roster of participants, schedule of meetings and subjects, and minutes of the sessions.
