Items in the collection are primarily collected printed items, such as journals, and other literature on and about the social work field. Also included in the collection are alumni publications of Smith College. Additional materials include class photographs, a yearbook from Walter L. Cohen Sr. High, where Mrs. Augustine was an English teacher. Plaques and some correspondence are also included.

Biographical Note
Ms. Augustine was a graduate of Smith College School of Social Work. Professionally she was at one time supervisor of psychiatric social work on the staff at the In-Patient and Day Hospital Service of the Department of Psychiatry of Harlem Hospital. She also worked as a consultant in public health social work to the New York City Health Department, and as a supervisor in psychiatric social work at Larue Carter Memorial Hospital. Lastly she was a field instructor of second year students in the Division of Social Work of the Indiana University.
