Charles Shelby Rooks papers

Reverend Dr. Charles Shelby Rooks is a retired theologian of the United Church of Christ and served as president and executive director of a number of theological institutions, including Chicago Theological Seminary President from 1974-1984 and Executive Vice President of the United Church Board for Homeland Ministries from 1984-1992. He also authored a number of books. His papers document his life and career as a theologian and include correspondence, sermons, writings, news articles, photographs, awards and certificates, and collected writings, periodicals, and books.
