Hazel Stamps Moore is a former librarian, an active member of the Tougaloo College Alumni Association, and has served on several boards and committees of the South Central Conference of the United Church of Christ. Her papers reflect these activities. Included are reports, agenda and minutes, correspondence, and other documents related to the South Central Conference and Central Congregational Church in New Orleans. Tougaloo College Alumni Association materials include correspondence, election ballots, and other items. Of note are proceedings of the First James Creek Women's District Conventions (1911-1948), a 1930 Premium List of the Eighth Annual Colored County Fair and Announcements of Amusements, Entertainments, and Committees from Macon, Mississippi, and a 1938 report on suggestions for improvements of Mississippi's Negro rural schools.

In addition, the papers consist of Time magazine covers with articles featuring Martin Luther King Jr., as well as clippings on Avery Alexander, Danny Barker, Katherine Drexel, drum majors in New Orleans schools, Lloyd N. Ferguson, Fred Luter Jr., Wynton Marsalis, monuments to civil rights, Dorothy J. Perrault, Reynolds Academy, and Dorothy Taylor.
