Content Description
In 1924, representatives from fourteen banks operated by African Americans formed the Negro Bankers Association, which was the forerunner of the National Bankers Association (NBA). In 1948, the names was changed, and in 1972 it was incorporated as a non-profit national trade association for minority-owned/controlled banks. This collection includes background information on the organization, biographical information on I. Owen Funderburg, President of Citizens Trust Bank in Atlanta, Georgia, NBA newsletters (1991-1992), and its 64th annual convention program.
