This collection includes correspondence, collected items, notes, and worksheets on noted New Orleans personalities and institutions. These materials were compiled in relation to the major exhibit on African American New Orleans history planned by the city of New Orleans. The exhibit was funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Of particular significance are the brief historical and biographical sketches on Black institutions and prominent New Orleanians of African descent.
