Content Description
The L. Monique McKenna collection consists of two oral history interviews conducted by McKenna with former New Orleans mayors Sidney Barthelemy and Marc H. Morial in 2004. In the Barthelemy interview, he discusses his family and early work history, his political involvement, his tenures in the Louisiana State Senate and as New Orleans Mayor, and accusations of patronage. Marc H. Morial discusses his family history, Creole culture, the career of his father, Ernest Morial, his political involvement, his tenures in the Louisiana State Senate and as New Orleans Mayor, crime prevention, and race and politics. The interviews are in CD format and are accompanied by printed time-coded outlines and transcripts.
