Folder contains the contract signed for the purchase of the Henderson family piano in which all of the children learned to play. The piano contract is dated for September 25, 1906. Additionally, the folder includes teacher's contracts for Ozie Henderson, Fletcher Henderson, Sr., and Irma Henderson. Many of the contracts are written for "F.H. Henderson & Wife," with the earliest contract dated to1908 and the last dated to 1941. Contracts for Irma Henderson date from 1946 to 1965.

Scope and Contents The majority of the correspondence are incoming letters to Irma Henderson, but there are also letters to other families within the limited correspondence. Various college administrators and school board personnel wrote to Irma Henderson about her continuing academic preparation and certification. Also of interest, there is a letter from 1887, in which Fisk P. Brewer, Professor of Ancient Languages at the University of South Carolina wrote to Fletcher Henderson, Sr. and verified that he...
