African American churches

The collection consists primarily of orders of service, programs, schedules of activities, and other various materials. The collection documents the activities of African American United Church of Christ churches, and they augment holdings about African American Congregational churches in particular.

Includes collected publications, ephemera, correspondence, and sermons of Charles M. Jones and others affiliated with the Community Church of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Sermons by Charles M. Jones include "The Church and the Supreme Court Decision: What the Church Can Say" from May 1954, "Facing Desegregation: How Religion Helps," and "A Realistic Look at Race Relations in Chapel Hill."

This small collection consists of photographs and collected items regarding the First District Baptist Association. This includes two photographs of unidentified church groups; a photographic broadside of Sallie C. Wade that lists her professional affiliations; a photographic Christmas postcard of Rev. A. L. Davis; and a funeral program for Alice Johnson Butler.
