Scope and Contents
The higher education series is arranged alphabetically by name of organization or school from the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges to Wiley College. Prevalent are materials concerning Atlanta University Center, where Harvey sponsored a drive to raise money for the Mary Rayford Collins Library, named after her mother, the first African American woman librarian in Mississippi. Jackson State University, Millsaps College, Piney Woods Country Life School, Rust College, and Harvey's alma maters, Spelman College and Tougaloo College are also documented. Tuskegee Institute, where Harvey served as the first African American woman trustee, is also represented.
