Scope and Contents
This collection contains correspondence, publications, ephemera, publicity, and other materials related to the We’ll Never Turn Back exhibition sponsored by the Amistad Research Center in 1980. Items of note include an exhibition catalog containing profiles of the photographers whose work was featured in the exhibition as well as ten reproductions of their photographs. Photographers include Tamio Wakayama, Maria Varela, Elaine Tomlin, Charles Moore, Danny Lyon, Julius Lester, Matt Herron, Doug Harris, Dee Gorton, Roland L. Freeman, Bob Fletcher, Bob Fitch, and Diana J. M. Davies. This collection also includes audio recordings of Louisiana activists conducted by Robert Hall with Sharon Berger and Elmo Jacobs, as well as videotapes of symposia and sessions.
