Scope and Contents
This series is comprised of personal correspondence, sermons and speeches, writings by J. Taylor Stanley, honors and awards, news clippings, reports and collected items. Of particular interest are collected articles and notes that Stanley used in compiling his book, A History of Black Congregational Christian Churches in the South, as well as typescript drafts of the book. This series also includes records of Rev. Stanley's pastorates and a small amount of correspondence and other materials kept by Kathryn T. Stanley during her work with the Congregational Sunday School Extension Society.
